One in 5 people in the U.S. apparently delayed not getting medical care during the previous twelve months during 2007. That is up from 1 in 7 people in 2003.

In 2007 a reported 23 million people claimed to have gone without medical care, and stated the reason as costs for failing to seek help.

The was a study by the Center for Studying Health System Change.
